Business founded in 1981 by Emersons and has become a second-generation operation
Cherry Street Meats, after operating for more than four decades in West Medford, will celebrate its grand opening at a new building later this month.
There will be a ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, followed by an afternoon of food, vendors and community festivities. The business is located at 986 Cherry St.
The celebration will include free food from 2 to 5 p.m., along with special sales throughout the week. Vendors will also be on site to help mark the occasion, including Plymouth Poultry of Seattle, Washington, with additional participating vendors expected, a news release said.
Bruce and Thea Emerson founded Cherry Street Meats and Emerson Distributing in 1981 and have remained committed to providing exceptional, high-quality meats to restaurants and the public, according to the release. More than four decades later, the company has grown into a second-generation family business, with their son, Neil Emerson, continuing that tradition, the family said.
The building was delivered through a design-build partnership with S+B James Construction, and People’s Bank of Commerce played a key role in the project, providing financing in partnership with Business Oregon, the release said.
“Throughout its history, Cherry Street Meats has remained focused on customer service, quality products, and competitive pricing while building lasting relationships throughout Southern Oregon,” the Emersons said.
